Who we are

Our website address is: https://QuotesQuotesQuotes.com, and we are owned by Synchronista LLC.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

We collect a minimal amount of data necessary to provide site visitors with our service.

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

If you use our web form or comment to contact us, we will have all of the information you provided as well as your IP address to help with abuse and for spam protection. If you contact us via social media, we will have your name and any other public information available. Privacy policies for these communications are covered by those social media companies/third party sites.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Shopping

Our site does not accept orders or payments. We may link to third party online merchants, such as Amazon, who process all sales. Privacy policies for these companies apply, and are provided by those third party sites.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, music, social media posts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. These files send data to the hosted site just as if you were visiting that site directly (for example, when you load a QuotesQuotesQuotes.com page with a YouTube video embedded in it, YouTube receives data about your activity). We do not control what data third parties collect in cases like this, or what they will do with it. Embedded content from a third party is not covered by this privacy policy, but is covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service.

This website also uses services provided by Automattic’s Jetpack service for WordPress. For a better understanding of how Jetpack uses your data, please refer to the Automattic Privacy Notice, the Automattic Privacy Policy, and the detailed What Data Does Jetpack Sync? support article.

Third-party social media APIs/Connections

When you click to share a post on social media using one of our social media sharing tools, they will send that request to third party APIs via your web browser to fetch information (like social shares, social comment count). This request made by web browser may include your IP address, which can then be seen by the third-party that it’s being requested from, and may be matched to your data/account on that third party site, and is therefore covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service.

How we use your data

We will only use the personal data we collect as reasonably necessary for the following purposes:

  1. to allow you to use and interact with the Site;
  2. to provide the Services to you as our customer;
  3. to inform our continued development of the Site and the Services;
  4. to communicate with you from time to time in response to your requests for information;
  5. as required by applicable law or legal requirements pertaining to records retention or for internal administrative purposes; or
  6. as specifically authorized by you in writing.

Who we share your data with

Analytics & Advertising

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movements around the Site, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. Ads appearing on our Site may be delivered to you by advertising partners who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers our use of cookies and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers. However, data tracking files used by us may also be used by these advertisers and, when combined with other information held by them, be used to identify you personally. For more information on third party cookies and instructions on how to opt-out of those cookies set by members of the National Advertising Initiative, please click here. Or, if you are located in the European Union, please visit the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance here.

Many websites, like ours, use Google services to improve content and keep it free. When we integrate these services, we share information with Google.

For example, when you visit a website that uses advertising services like AdSense, including analytics tools like Google Analytics, or embeds video content from YouTube, your web browser automatically sends certain information to Google. This includes the URL of the page you’re visiting and your IP address. They may also set cookies on your browser or read cookies that are already there. Apps that use Google advertising services also share information with Google, such as the name of the app and a unique identifier for advertising.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically through your use of the site. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring or exit pages, the files viewed on the site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site. We use analytical software to help us understand this information. This software sends information to its licensor. Other sites and companies may also use this software. As a result, the licensor may collect information that, when aggregated by them, allows them to identify you individually. We have no responsibility for this collection and use.

Google uses the information shared by sites and apps to deliver services, maintain and improve them, develop new services, measure the effectiveness of advertising, protect against fraud and abuse, and personalize content and ads you see on Google and on our partners’ sites and apps. See their Privacy Policy to learn more about how they process data for each of these purposes, and their Advertising page for more about Google ads, how your information is used in the context of advertising, and how long Google stores this information.

As part of Google’s commitment to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), they provide publishers with controls to select which ad technology providers are allowed to serve and measure ads in the European Economic Area (EEA), to support ad delivery, ad measurement, and other functions. All providers listed here have shared certain information that is required by the GDPR, a link explaining their data usage, and they have agreed to comply with data usage policy.

Location Information: We may determine the approximate location of a visitor’s device from the IP address. We collect and use this information to, for example, tally for our Users how many people visit their Sites from certain geographic regions. If you’d like, you can read more about the Site Stats feature for WordPress and Jetpack sites.

We use some third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Amazon and WPEngine, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run this website. Like most sites, we maintain server logs and event logs. By using our site, you authorize us to transfer, store, and use your information in the United States and any other country where we operate.

Email newsletters: By providing your email address and other data when you sign up for our email newsletter, you will be giving us those details, which are shared with our third-party mailing list company, Mail Chimp. See their privacy policy here.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. We do not offer user accounts.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service. Akismet collects information about visitors who comment. The information collected typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as name, email address and the comment).

Your contact information

If you email us or use our web form or comment to contact us, we will have the contact information you provided.

Additional information

Disclosure to third parties.

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties except as follows:

  1. when we believe disclosure is reasonably required to comply with any law or legal request;
  2. to enforce our legal and contractual rights, or to protect the rights and safety of others;
  3. to third parties who help us provide any part of the Site or the Services, to the limited extent required for such help, and on condition that they may not further disclose your data or use it for any other purpose; or
  4. as part of a sale of our assets or a merger of our company.

We remain responsible for compliance with this Privacy Policy by third parties to whom we disclose your personal data.

Procedures to protect personal data.

We have put in place reasonable measures and appropriate procedures for implementing these policies and for safeguarding the personal data we collect. However, we cannot guarantee that personal data we collect will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal data submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received.

Information we collect

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so — for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better. You may also provide us information when you respond to surveys, leave a comment or communicate with us.

We also collect some information automatically:

How to limit the data collected

Website Cookie Preference Tool: You can exercise preferences about what cookies are served by visiting the TRUSTe preference center by clicking this link: http://preferences-mgr.truste.com/.

Browser Controls: You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our Websites though your access to some functionality and areas of our Websites may be restricted. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information.

Disabling Most Interest Based Advertising: Most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of Interest-Based Advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com.

Mobile Advertising: You can opt out of having your mobile advertising identifiers used for certain types of Interest-Based Advertising, including those performed by us, by accessing the settings in your Apple or Android mobile device and following the most recent published instructions. If you opt out, we will remove all data about you and no further data collection or tracking will occur. The random ID we (or our third party partners) had previously assigned to you will also be removed. This means that if at a later stage, you decide to opt-in, we will not be able to continue and track you using the same ID as before, and you will for all practical purposes be a new user to our system.

Do Not Track: Some Internet browsers – like Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari – include the ability to transmit “Do Not Track” or “DNT” signals. Since uniform standards for “DNT” signals have not been adopted, our Websites do not currently process or respond to “DNT” signals. MailChimp takes privacy and meaningful choice seriously and will make efforts to continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard. To learn more about “DNT”, please visit All About Do Not Track.
